About The Opportunity

We are seeking a HSEQ Coordinator to provide health, safety, environmental, and quality support to designated business units within the Programmed Group. Responsibilities include engaging stakeholders to ensure compliance against HSEQ and compliance standards, implementation and maintenance of HSEQ policies, and systems as well and ongoing continual improvement initiatives. This permanent, full-time role based in Petone, Wellington, plays a crucial part in cultivating our safety culture and contributing to important services for the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of HSEQ policies and processes.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Provides technical HSEQ guidance and operational support across Programmed.
  • Maintains incident management system and handles incident notifications as required.
  • Implements initiatives from HSEQ improvement plans and addresses concerns promptly.
  • Collates relevant HSEQ data and provides reports as required.
  • Coaches, mentors, and upskills staff, employees, field employees, and contractors across Programmed.
  • Undertakes audits and site inspections to measure systems performance and ensure improvements are actioned.
  • Establishes close working relationships with key stakeholders and supports client HSEQ interventions aligned with Programmed’s values.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a motivated professional with a ‘can-do’ attitude, knack for people engagement and a drive for top-notch service delivery gained through HSEQ or risk and compliance coordination experience. A background or strong knowledge of facilities services, education, or similar high-risk industries is highly desirable, however not essential (utilities, transport, manufacturing, construction, ports, major hazard facilities etc).

Additionally, You Will Demonstrate And Possess The Following

  • Highly developed communication and robust stakeholder engagement ability.
  • Proactive approach to relationship management.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Commercial aptitude.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook & Powerpoint).
  • Work Safety Management system experience preferred; Noggin, highly desirable.
