The opportunity

Council has a full-time vacancy for a Legal Property Officer reporting to the Strategic Property Lead.

Your background in property and related legislation will enable you to have a firm grasp of all property matters and will allow you to use your strategic building and legislative skills in a fast moving and varied environment.

To set you up for success, you'll have

  • A legal or property related qualification and at least five years experience.
  • Experience in the acquisition and disposal of property.
  • Knowledge of easements, esplanade strips, access strips, covenants, caveats and encumbrances.
  • An understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and its implications.
  • Demonstrated research and leadership experience.
  • An understanding of the Public Works Act.
  • Research and Report writing skills.
