The role
As a Trainee Line Mechanic, you will be responsible for learning and understanding the fundamentals of Electricity Supply while attaining entry trade qualifications. If you have a couple of year's work experience, a proven work ethic, enjoy working outside and are keen to establish a solid career path. This role will be based at Hamilton.

The key responsibility for this position includes, but are not limited to:
- Complete 2 weeks in-class, 2 weeks at your local depot rotations for ten weeks
- Become involved in electrical installation, maintenance and repair
- Participate in classroom activities to gain technical qualifications
- Take part in field simulations to apply skills in a practical environment
- Participate in structured work placement in your local depot
- Prioritise safety by following protocols and adhering to company policies
- Collaborate closely with your team members to ensure the efficient and effective completion of tasks
- Stay at the forefront of industry trends and advancements
- Be part of an organisation that values community and gives back
- Guaranteed work placement as a Trainee on successful completion of the programme

About You
You’ll be working on a variety of exciting projects and be someone who enjoys getting stuck in to get the job done. You’re willing to proactively support the team to undertake work activities without being told.

To be successful in this role, you will also have some of the following skills:
- A valid driver’s licence (Class 2) is preferred
- A keen willingness to learn and develop new skills
- A genuine interest in the Electricity Supply Industry
- Commitment to the learning opportunities provided by this programme and consistent attendance
- A strong commitment to safety and attention to detail
- Physical fitness and the dedication to meet the demands of the role
- A great work attitude and willingness to be part of a diverse team along with a strong focus to health & safety
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and communicate well
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
