Te Tūranga | About the role

As an ITS Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of transformative projects in the Tauranga Transport Network Operations team (TTOC). Join forward-thinking professionals committed to delivering excellence for our community. Collaborate with internal and external partners to drive meaningful outcomes, optimize operations and ensure the city's transport function is a model of efficiency and safety. Be at the forefront of new and emerging technologies in the ITS space, trialling innovative solutions to create a safer and more resilient network.

  • Take the reins in overseeing the delivery of ITS projects for the Tauranga Transport Operations Centre.
  • Plan and develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Configure CCTV cameras, switches and network components in a fast paced, professional environment.
  • Work cooperatively with Contractors to install and maintain and renew transport related electronic assets across the city and beyond.
  • Manage ITS projects in partnership with stakeholders and liaise with Asset Managers to ensure projects are programmed and delivered within allocated budgets and time frames. Maintain accurate records for all ITS assets across the transport network.

Ngā Pukenga | What you'll need to succeed

To Succeed In This Role, You'll Bring

  • A relevant qualification in an ITS related field, Electrical or technical discipline
  • Previous intermediate networking experience
  • 5+ years of managing projects
  • Proven success in delivery of electrical/technical projects
  • Demonstrated success in managing contractors
  • Demonstrated success in customer relations and change management
  • Previous budget and financial management would be desirable
