We are currently looking for a part-time Administration Officer to join our team based at our Westport Community Corrections location.
About the role | Mō te tūnga
A large part of the role is supporting our Community Corrections team as a front-line representative on reception duty. You will be communicating directly with people in our care who are serving community-based sentences and will also be working with our Probation Officers.
Other key tasks involve;
- Liaising with organisations and services we work with
- Processing and creating files
- Preparing documents for court
- Purchasing materials
- Record management and ensuring correspondence, reports and other documentation meet Department timelines and standards
Our ideal candidate will enjoy working collaboratively as one team in a challenging and fast paced environment, be able to multitask, follow and adhere to strict policies and procedures, and have sound judgement in prioritising tasks and activities to meet deadlines.

For this role, it is important that you highlight your experiences and skills in your CV and cover letter. The preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Resilience and a pragmatic approach to problem solving
- Ability to multitask and display common sense
- Excellent customer facing and communication skills for reception duties
- A high level of proficiency in computer software and database systems
You will need a full New Zealand driver licence for this role.

The starting salary for this role is $59,717 and progression is dependent of required competency levels.
The work profile for this position is Tuesday-Friday 9:30am-2:30pm working 20 hours per week.
Applicants must be a New Zealand citizen, New Zealand Resident Permit holder, Australian citizen or an Australian resident who holds a current Australian Resident Return Visa.
