The Role:

Based in Christchurch (Hornby) and reporting to our Head of Commercial Finance, this is a new Finance Business Partner opportunity within Westland, providing dedicated financial support to our Retail and Food Service Sales team. This role provides the link between the official numbers and the information people need to run their business units. In particular, this role will provide the Retail and Food Service Sales team with appropriate financial challenge and assistance regarding profitability analysis, forecasting, budgeting and reporting and preparing financial information to support enhanced strategic and operational decision-making.

As such, this is a varied and interesting role with a great mix of responsibilities including financial and commercial analysis, management accounting, monthly reporting and forecasting, strategic planning, budgeting and asset management/utilisation. This role will also support better management of financial risk and governance activities and ensure transactional accuracy in conjunction with the wider Finance processing team.

Applicants will ideally possess:

• An appropriate qualification (ideally tertiary). CA qualification also preferred.
• Proven experience working in a similar business partnering capacity, with competence to deliver advice to senior levels within a large organisation
• Strong analytical skills, great attention to detail along with well-developed financial acumen
• The ability to drive the optimisation of costs and revenue improvement, with a good knowledge of product costing
• Exceptional communication, relationship management and influencing skills together with a proactive and "can-do" approach
• A familiarity with ERP systems and the ability to maximise system functionality
• A desire to add value through the provision of robust financial information, analysis and reporting
• Any prior knowledge of the dairy industry, FMCG and manufacturing environments would be advantageous
