HR Connect Limited

Date: 1 week ago
City: Tauranga, Bay of Plenty
Contract type: Full time

Kōrero mō te tūranga / About the role

This is an exciting hands-on senior role in which you will have significant scope to influence and drive safety within our team. We are looking for fresh thinking, someone who will be a champion for safety, wellbeing and environment management across geothermal and agriculture businesses.

Tuwharetoa ki Kawerau / About us

Tuwharetoa ki Kawerau operate significant geothermal assets in Kawerau which provide energy for our electricity generation and industrial process customers. They have important farming and forestry interests. They’re proud of their safety culture, but also see opportunity to improve and take a fresh approach to ensuring they are a leader in safety, wellbeing and environmental management – for their people, customers, and wider community. They are embarking on a major geothermal development project and are looking for someone who can contribute across business-as-usual operations and major projects.

Ko wai koe / Who we are looking for

  • With a people-first business approach the successful candidate will be a natural communicator and relationship builder, with strong partnering skills at all levels.
  • You will have experience managing safety and a deep working knowledge of safety requirements in complex industrial settings and New Zealand’s Health, Safety and Environmental regulatory framework.
  • You’ll be able to provide accurate and timely advice, tools & guidance, working with our teams on safety plans, and facilitating a learning environment.
  • You will understand the importance of what you are working on and can prioritise accordingly.
  • You’ll be comfortable with boots-on-the-ground on-site safety and working on systems and processes that fundamentally improve safety & wellbeing as part of everything we do.
  • You’ll have experience with or have genuine interest in how technology and digital tools can contribute to safety and wellbeing.
  • A qualification in Health & Safety and/or Environmental will be an advantage but experience and attitude are the most important.

Additional Information

This role is primarily hands-on and located in Kawerau but we will consider flexibility with a mix of office and remote working.

We offer a competitive remuneration package, five weeks annual leave and a generous 5% kiwisaver employer contribution. All within a family-friendly work environment that will allow you to grow both professionally and personally.
