Company

Aura have recently expanded to have a specialist Consultant based in the Hawkes Bay due to growth of our networks in the area. We are currently working with a number of businesses to secure talent particularly in the Temp and Contracting Finance & Accounting space.

Role

A Contract Accountant will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, agility and excellent organisational skills to perform the responsibilities effectively. Additionally, proficiency in relevant accounting software and good communication skills are essential for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Projects will vary, covering all facets of accounting. Responsibilities will vary with each assignment but generally may include some or all of the following:

• CA Compliance Accounting, completing workpapers, Statutory Financial Statements and Tax Returns
• Tax Returns, Income Tax, GST Processing, FBT Returns
• Commercial Accounting roles to cover Management & Financial Accountants
• Fixed Asset & Inventory Accounting
• Cashflow, Forecasting and Budgeting
• ERP Implementation Projects
• Product Costing
• Assist the finance team with various projects as needed.
  
  

Skills And Experience

• Proven experience as an Accountant - either in the commercial sector or in CA Compliance Accounting.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Excel
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, taxation, legislation and best practice within your area of specialty
• Excellent organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, meeting tight deadlines
• Strong communication skills
• Strong experience working in a similar role 3 + years
• Business or Accounting Degree is preferable
• CA, CPA, ATAINZ or similar affiliation is desirable
