The Transport Rebuild East Coast Alliance (TREC) has been established to rebuild the East Coast's road and rail transport network so it is resilient to future weather events, ensuring access can be restored for East Coast Communities.
Restoring the state highway and railway networks in the Hawke's Bay and Tairāwhiti-Gisborne Regions impacted by Cyclone Gabrielle is our focus. It's not just about fixing these transport links. We'll also be building resilience into the network to minimise the impacts of future events. TREC's purpose is to ensure a regionally led approach that respects and engages with iwi, council, regional suppliers to support a local recovery all in service of the people of the East Coast.
We are looking for a Planning Engineer to join our Hawkes Bay Team. As a Planning Engineer you will determine and develop the most suitable and economically viable construction and engineering method for the projects. Estimate a timescale for a project and work with site managers and engineers to ensure projects run on schedule and material supplies are sufficient.
We're looking for someone with:
- At least 10 years' experience in planning engineering for construction projects
- Strong technical understanding of construction methods and techniques
- Experience in construction/multi project and complex environments
- Solid computer skills
- Ability to understand drawings and construction details and impart those to others
- Highly organised with an innate ability to problem solve and influence others
- Ability to influence and facilitate difficult discussions, handle conflict and work under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal skills that enable the building of effective relationships with key personnel, including supporting teams at the senior management level
- Ability to champion and promote Alliance principles and influence others
- Promotion of high levels of collaboration, connectivity, and standardised work practices
This is a permanent, full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week. You will be based in the Hawkes Bay. You may also be required to travel to other locations within NZ for this role. The salary range for this role is between $130k per annum and $140k per annum.
