About the role

We are seeking a Customer Relations Co-ordinator to provide customer relations support across our four WDC customer sites – Te Iwitahi (Civic Centre), iSite, Clapham Clocks National Museum and our Ruakaka Service Centre. You will work within a wider team of 4 x Customer Relations Co-ordinators dedicated to delivering excellent customer service at first point of entry, led by an experienced Team Leader.

This new established role will ideally suit an adaptable and multi-skilled customer services individual who really enjoys variety on the job, has excellent learning agility and isn’t afraid to learn a variety of new systems, processes, and procedures. You will be drawn to working alongside our diverse community and be comfortable demonstrating our Tikanga (values) through your interactions with customers. You should also be able to demonstrate a genuine passion for delivering a customer first approach to your service.

Core responsibilities of the role include:

  • Accurately establishing customer needs; responding with prompt, accurate and timely information.
  • Acting as a customer advocate; liaising on customers behalf across the organisation as required.
  • Utilsing our customer request system to record, evaluate or follow-up progress on customer inquiries.
  • Carry out all cashiering functions and delivering payment option advice.
  • Take bookings both internally and externally for Council provided services e.g., tourism activities.
  • Collect and record statistical information, providing monthly reports to Team lead.
  • Update and maintain customer databases.

Our successful candidate will ideally bring:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in providing a range of varied services to customers
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to work successfully in a changing environment
  • Excellent learning agility
  • Strong customer focus
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
