About the Palmerston North team

The TBI Health Palmerston North team is a well-developed and experienced team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, hand therapists, exercise therapist, clinical pharmacist and nurse practitioner. We have built strong connections with pain specialists, MSK and orthopaedic specialists within the area who work closely with the team on a case-by-case basis. The team culture is fun and social. We love to have a good laugh together and work collaboratively.

There are some great staff success stories that originated from this clinic. Some of the current team members have the opportunity to contribute their expertise by taking on additional roles such as Contract Lead, Hauora Connect local champion, H&S Committee member, Supervision, etc.

Be part of a team that has achieved some great things in the equity space as well. They continue to increase the cultural capability of the team and build new networks in the community with Māori health providers and local iwi.

As part of the Palmerston North team, you will be working in a new and purpose-built clinic located within a specialist centre, shared with radiology, MSK and orthopaedic specialists. The clinic is situated in a great location with easy public carparking options nearby and 6 different coffee shops within a 3-minute walk.

About the mahi (role)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Physiotherapist to join our rapidly growing services in Palmerston North. Our clinic is continually expanding and needing more clinical staff to keep up with demand, having recently opened a satellite clinic in Levin and a growing clinic in Whanganui.

You will uphold our commitment to delivering excellent rehabilitation services with a patient-centric focus and strive to make a positive impact on the lives of our clients through comprehensive and compassionate care.

The caseload will consist of Med Fees, Pain Management, ICP, Training for Independence, and Early Intervention services.

Key tasks will include:

  • Patient assessments and treatments
  • Administration and reporting
  • Liaison with colleagues, funders, and employers
  • Team meetings and training

In this role, you will receive extensive training and/or mentoring depending on your experience level. You will be reporting to the Clinic Manager and be a key member of the Palmerston North interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.

The role is full time but part-time will be considered for the right candidate.


About You

Our ideal candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy and have a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience. Someone keen to work within a cohesive multidisciplinary team and keen to continue learning and developing their skills as a clinician.

A post-graduate qualification would be an advantage to the applicant however not essential.

  • Current full clean driver’s license
