We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager Risk Capability & Change to join our Risk Capability & Change team and help deliver and embed meaningful non-financial risk change across ASB.
Mō te tūranga | About the Role
This isn’t a traditional change management role. You’ll bring together change delivery, communication and capability expertise to translate risk requirements into practical, sustainable outcomes.
Working across Line 1 and Line 2 Risk, you’ll partner with sponsors, senior leaders and key stakeholders to understand change impacts, shape decisions and support the successful implementation and adoption of non-financial risk change. You’ll also play an important role in building risk capability, literacy and confidence through targeted learning, facilitation, coaching and knowledge sharing.
As Senior Manager Risk Capability & Change, You Will
- Lead change management activity for non-financial risk initiatives, from initial scoping and impact assessment through to implementation, embedding and measurement.
- Develop and deliver fit-for-purpose change strategies, delivery plans and communications.
- Partner with sponsors, senior stakeholders and risk leaders across Line 1 and Line 2 to analyse impacts, influence decisions and coordinate successful change delivery.
- Lead business readiness, adoption and change impact activities, ensuring dependencies and risks are understood and managed.
- Design and deliver targeted capability initiatives, including learning activities, communications, storyboards, facilitation and supporting materials.
- Build risk and change capability through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
- Review learning and capability materials through a risk lens to ensure they support the intended outcomes.
- Measure the effectiveness and maturity of capability initiatives, using feedback and insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure change activity aligns with the Change Management Risk Standard, ASB Delivery Framework and relevant change guidance and tools.
- Contribute to broader Risk Capability & Change priorities and help create a positive, connected and high-performing team environment.
Ngā mea kia whai angitū ahau? | What do I need to be successful?
We’re looking for someone who can confidently move between change delivery and capability work as priorities evolve. You’ll be comfortable working at both a strategic and practical level, from influencing senior stakeholders and shaping an approach through to preparing communications, running activities and creating engaging learning materials.
You’ll Bring
- Strong experience developing change strategies and delivering change initiatives end to end.
- A sound understanding of change management fundamentals, methodologies and tools.
- The ability to translate complex risk requirements into practical change, communication and capability outcomes.
- An understanding of non-financial risk and the role effective risk management plays within an organisation.
- Experience supporting business readiness, adoption and the sustainable embedding of change.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, engaging communications and learning materials.
- Confidence facilitating activities, workshops or learning sessions with a range of audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including experience working with senior leaders.
- The ability to create storyboards and shape learning or capability content.
- A collaborative and adaptable approach, with the confidence to shift between different priorities and types of work.
- Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting others through change.
