Domestic Insurance Broker - Wellington

Rothbury Insurance Brokers

Remote

Be part of our vision for a relationship-first broking experience and take ownership of an established domestic portfolio in Wellington. In this client-focused role you'll work closely with customers to understand their individual needs, provide tailored insurance advice, and deliver a level of service that builds long-term trust and loyalty.

Whether you're already working in insurance or bring experience from banking, lending, financial services or another regulated environment, this is an opportunity to develop your expertise within a supportive, nationwide brokerage.

You'll be supported by an experienced team and knowledgeable colleagues who will provide practical guidance, share their domestic insurance expertise, and help you build confidence as you settle into the role.

What's in It for you?

  • Professional growth - Access to development opportunities, experienced mentors, and a network that supports your ongoing success.
  • Wellbeing benefits - Join a business that values both performance and wellbeing, providing the support you need to thrive professionally and personally.
  • Scale with access - Enjoy the benefits of a nationwide organisation while maintaining strong local relationships and close connections with leaders and decision makers.

The role

As a Domestic Broker, you'll manage an established portfolio and acquire new business, while delivering exceptional service and advice to clients. You'll work with leading insurers and underwriters to secure tailored insurance solutions, manage renewals and policy changes, respond to client enquiries, and identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships.

Success in this role comes from your ability to build trust, communicate clearly, understand client needs, and provide a seamless service experience. You'll also collaborate closely with colleagues across the wider business and contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture.

What we're looking for

  • Strong relationship-building skills with a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
  • Experience in insurance, banking, lending, financial services, or another regulated and customer-focused environment would be highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • The ability to work independently while building effective relationships and collaborating across multiple teams and business units.
  • Adaptable and positive in your approach, with a willingness to embrace change, learn new skills, and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development, continuous learning, and sharing knowledge with others.
  • A Level 5 Certificate in Financial Services (General Insurance) is advantageous, but not essential.
