We currently have up to 4 vacancies for skilled Industrial Painters to join our high performing team.

This job is Dunedin-based.

Type: Full-time, permanent

Pay rate: $28.00-$36.50, depending on skills and experience

Minimum guaranteed hours: 32 hours weekly

The Key Tasks You Will Be Involved With Include

• Follow all Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental systems and procedures
• Preparing steel, concrete and other surfaces to specification using water blasting, abrasive blasting, and hand and power tools
• Applying protective and intumescent coatings to steel and concrete substrates using airless spray equipment and other methods as required
• Mixing and applying coatings such as zinc primers, high-build epoxies and polyurethanes in accordance with specifications
• Operating, using and maintaining coating and blasting equipment, including airless spray equipment, grout pumps and compressors
• Capturing and recording quality assurance (QA) records
• Working at heights and around access machinery and equipment
• Undertaking training as required
• To undertake training as required
• Travelling and staying away from home when required by projects
• Driving company vehicles as required

About You

You'll have at least three years’ protective coatings experience in a combination of the following areas, and relevant qualifications:

• Intumescent and protective coating application
• Abrasive blasting
• Surface preparation of different substrate types, including water blasting and mechanical and hand preparation
• Operating airless spray equipment, grout pumps and compressors

You’ll also be able to read and understand paint specifications and follow procedures. We’re looking for people who are motivated, physically fit, able to work well in a team, committed to learning and growing, and have a positive attitude towards colleagues. A full, clean driver’s licence is required when driving company vehicles.
