Working alongside experienced Treasury professionals, you will contribute to the day-to-day delivery of Treasury activities while building a strong foundation in financial markets and balance sheet management. You will develop your technical expertise, market judgement and dealing capability through exposure to liquidity and funding management, market and interest rate risk, collateral management, wholesale funding, counterparty exposures, Treasury reporting and approved market dealing activities.

Designed as a pathway into broader Treasury dealing responsibilities, this role offers increasing exposure and responsibility as your capability develops. You will investigate key balance sheet and market movements, support funding and hedging decisions, execute approved transactions, maintain accurate records and reporting, and contribute to Treasury analysis, committee papers, projects and process improvements. You will also be supported to attain and maintain NZFMA (New Zealand Financial Markets Association) Dealer Accreditation.

• Experience or exposure in Treasury, banking, financial markets, finance, risk, accounting or another analytical discipline.
• Demonstrated interest in financial markets, balance sheet management and Treasury activities.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to investigate trends, identify key drivers and communicate insights clearly.
• High attention to detail and a disciplined approach to controls, accuracy and risk management.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, together with the aptitude to learn Treasury systems and data tools.
• Curiosity, sound judgement and a willingness to learn from experienced colleagues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with stakeholders.
• A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• NZFMA accreditation, or the willingness and ability to obtain it within 12 months of commencing the role.

You don't need to be an experienced Treasury dealer to succeed in this role. We're looking for someone with strong potential, a genuine interest in financial markets and banking, and the drive to learn. You'll thrive if you're curious, proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable taking on increasing responsibility as your capability grows.
