Supply Chain Manager

About the Company

Alleva is an established, R&D-led animal health business that develops and supplies products for farmers and vets across New Zealand and Australia and is growing in additional overseas markets. It’s a successful business with a strong pipeline of new products and growth plans that are ambitious but grounded.

Just as importantly, Alleva is backing those plans with genuine investment in its systems, people, and infrastructure. That makes this a rare chance to join a business that is building properly for its next stage of growth.

The Role

Reporting to the CEO and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, you will own Alleva’s supply chain across both countries. Your job is to make sure customers get product reliably, while keeping cost and working capital tied up in stock under control. This is a role with real decision-making authority and a genuine voice in the direction of the business.

NetSuite is in the process of being implemented, so the opportunity now is to optimise it, make it the primary planning record, and move the business off spreadsheets and workarounds. You will also build the team and its capability, run the monthly IBP cycle, and play a key part in assessing new sites as the business grows.

This is a hands-on role – you will do the production planning and MRP yourself – with a strong blend of operational, tactical, and strategic work. It suits someone who wants to make an impact and contribute to the bigger picture, not simply run the plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end supply chain, including budget and working capital
  • Run the monthly IBP cycle, aligning sales, R&D, finance, and operations around one plan
  • Lead demand planning with the NZ and Australian sales teams, maintaining a rolling six-month forecast
  • Schedule production with contract manufacturers and run MRP, including supply for new product launches
  • Optimise NetSuite as the primary planning record, with practical dashboards, measures, and planning parameters
  • Improve stock turns and reduce aged and excess stock, back orders, and stock-outs while protecting availability
  • Manage contract manufacturers, suppliers, 3PL warehouses and freight providers, including dangerous goods
  • Build and develop the supply chain team, and contribute to the evaluation of new sites

Key Skills & Experience Required

  • Several years leading a supply chain, including time at management level
  • Strong experience across demand and supply planning, inventory, procurement, and logistics
  • Recent hands-on production planning and scheduling, including MRP and ERP materials planning
  • Advanced NetSuite or equivalent ERP planning capability; direct NetSuite experience highly regarded
  • Experience managing contract manufacturers and overseas suppliers
  • NZ and Australian, or multi-country, supply chain experience
  • A track record of improvements that stuck, from planning processes to dashboards and measures
  • Tertiary qualified; IBP/S&OP experience, CPIM, CSCP or CILT, and a background in animal health, agrichemicals, pharmaceuticals, or other regulated products all highly regarded (though not essential)

About You

You are a commercially sharp supply chain leader who is as comfortable at the SLT table as you are working through the production schedule. You enjoy the variety of a smaller, growing business, where strategy and hands-on delivery sit side by side.

You don’t need a large team or corporate structure around you to deliver. You follow things through, communicate clearly with people at all levels, and want your work to make a visible difference to how the business performs.

What’s In It For You

This is a chance to own the supply chain in a successful business that is investing to grow, with a seat on the SLT and real influence on the decisions that shape it. You will work directly with the CEO, build a team and capability your way, and get NetSuite working as it should. Flexible start and finish times, plus some work-from-home flexibility, make it work day to day.

Benefits

  • Competitive remuneration commensurate with experience
  • Some work-from-home flexibility
  • Flexible start and finish times
  • Seat on the SLT, reporting directly to the CEO
  • Genuine investment in systems, people and infrastructure
