About the Company

Our client is a well-established New Zealand business with a strong reputation for quality and service. They are continually investing in their operation and in the people who lead it.

The Role

Reporting into the national supply chain leadership team, you will lead a large distribution operation and the people who run it. You will turn supply chain strategy into clear site priorities, owning safety, inventory integrity, service and cost, and leading the improvement work that takes the operation to the next level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own inventory integrity, cycle counting and stock adjustment performance
  • Fix the root causes of inventory variance across processes and systems
  • Lead improvement projects using benchmarking and performance data
  • Lead, coach and develop the site leadership team and wider workforce
  • Set safety leadership standards and own critical risk controls
  • Drive DIFOT and service performance with freight and sales partners
  • Own the site operating budget, capacity planning and MHE fleet
  • Build strong partnerships across the wider business

Key Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven leadership in a large-scale supply chain or distribution operation
  • Proven warehouse management experience with a strong improvement track record
  • Deep inventory control capability; confident with ERP/WMS systems
  • Analytical and data-driven, with strong commercial acumen
  • People leader who builds capability and holds standards
  • Safety-first mindset with experience owning site risk
  • Tertiary qualification in supply chain, or equivalent experience; CLTD or CPIM advantageous
  • Understanding of freight costs and transport partner management highly advantageous

What’s In It For You

This is genuine operational accountability: your own site, your own budget and a clear mandate to optimise it. Inventory, systems and continuous improvement sit at the heart of the role, with the backing to deliver real change rather than maintain the status quo. With leadership development and succession planning built into the business, there is plenty of runway.
