We are seeking an experienced P&ID CAD Consultant to support a major engineering programme within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role is focused on updating, maintaining and quality checking P&ID documentation, ensuring all drawings meet established engineering standards and document control requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform P&ID blacklining based on approved engineering mark-ups.
- Execute red-to-black updates in AutoCAD in accordance with drawing standards and procedures.
- Create, revise and maintain engineering drawings and associated documentation.
- Review updated drawings for accuracy, completeness, consistency and legibility.
- Apply P&ID conventions, CAD standards and TAG numbering principles.
- Process technical review comments and implement approved changes.
- Maintain full traceability between source mark-ups, revisions and final deliverables.
- Coordinate closely with engineering and document control teams to ensure timely project delivery.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in P&ID drafting, blacklining and red-to-black updates.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and controlled engineering documentation.
- Solid understanding of P&ID symbols, equipment references, instrumentation, line types and TAG numbering systems.
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings for technical accuracy and compliance.
- Experience working within document control and revision management processes.
- Ability to manage multiple drawing updates while maintaining quality and traceability.
- Experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences or another regulated engineering environment is advantageous.
- Experience with Meridian or a similar engineering document management system is preferred.
