About The Role
Love operating machinery? Make it your specialty.
This isn’t your typical all-round Vineyard Operator role.
You’ll join Vinarchy’s dedicated Machine Operations Team, where machine operation is at the heart of what you do.
No two days or vineyards are quite the same. You’ll work across a large Marlborough vineyard network, moving to where the work is happening and operating machinery across a variety of vineyard tasks. If you like being hands-on, working with good gear and seeing real results from your day, you’ll fit right in.
This is a permanent opportunity to build real depth in machine operations, supported by experienced operators, training and clear operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Machine Operations: Operate tractors, harvesters, ATVs and vineyard machinery safely and efficiently.
- Seasonal Operations: Carry out mowing, mulching, trimming, leaf plucking, compost spreading, spraying, post driving and harvest activities.
- Machine Care: Complete pre-start checks, basic preventative maintenance and seasonal machinery set-up.
- Quality & Safety: Take pride in doing the job properly, spotting issues and speaking up when something isn't right.
- Teamwork: Work closely with other operators, Team Leaders and our workshop team to keep the day's work moving.
- Continuous Improvement: Look for better ways of working and help the team deliver quality results.
These activities reflect the core operational accountabilities in the Machine Operator role description, including tractors, harvesters, ATVs, powered and towed implements, harvest activities and basic preventative maintenance.
What You’ll Bring
Attitude matters more to us than arriving with years of machinery experience. If you’re reliable, motivated and keen to learn, we can teach you the equipment and help you build your skills.
You'll Bring
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Reliability and a strong work ethic
- Pride in the quality of your work
- A safety-first mindset
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A full, current New Zealand driver’s licence
- Flexibility during harvest
- Previous machinery experience is welcomed, but not essential
