Strategy Manager, Personal Banking

At ASB, we're focused on helping our customers and communities thrive. We're looking for a Strategy Manager to join our Personal Banking Strategy team and help solve some of the division's most important business challenges.

This is an opportunity to influence strategic decisions, work closely with senior leaders, and contribute to the future direction of one of ASB's largest businesses.

Te Tūranga | The role

Reporting to the Head of Strategy, you'll support strategic clarity, problem solving, and decision making across Personal Banking.

This is a broad role where you'll work on a variety of strategic initiatives, helping leaders understand complex challenges, identify opportunities, and make informed decisions. You'll combine market insights, customer understanding, commercial thinking, and data analysis to develop recommendations that support the division's long-term success.

You'll also play a key role in strategic planning, performance tracking and reporting, and communicating strategic priorities across the business.

We're looking for someone who enjoys tackling ambiguous challenges and can bring structure, insight, and commercial thinking to complex business problems. You'll be naturally curious, comfortable working with data, and able to connect information from multiple sources to identify opportunities and recommend practical actions.

You'll likely bring experience from a strategy, consulting, professional services, or large corporate environment where you've worked with senior stakeholders and contributed to strategic decision making.

• Proven experience in strategy development, consulting, or solving complex business problems.
• Strong analytical and commercial thinking skills with the ability to turn data into meaningful insights.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing capability.
• The confidence to work through ambiguity and develop practical strategic recommendations.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of an organisation.

Experience within financial services is beneficial, but not essential. We're equally interested in people who can demonstrate strong strategic thinking, problem-solving capability, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence outcomes through strong relationships and communication.
