About The Role

A key member of our Community Ministries team, the Food Logistics Worker supports people experiencing food insecurity by coordinating the collection, transportation, storage, and distribution of donated food and essential items. This role works closely with donors, corporate partners, and community organisations to ensure resources are delivered safely, efficiently, and in a timely manner, contributing to positive outcomes for individuals and whānau in need.

What Will Your Responsibilities Be

  • Collect and deliver donated food and resources.
  • Support the day-to-day running of the foodbank.
  • Receive, sort, store, and distribute stock safely.
  • Keep accurate records and complete required reporting.
  • Maintain vehicles, equipment, and work areas to a safe and tidy standard.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Able to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Compassionate and passionate about supporting individuals and whānau in need.
  • Well organised, with good time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Holds a full, clean driver's licence, is physically fit, and confident using Microsoft Office applications.

This role is permanent part time and hours worked will be 20.5 per week. The hours of work will be Monday, Tuesday and Friday 9am-12pm, Wednesday 9am-3pm and Thursday 9am-3.30pm (30min lunch break for these two days).

The starting salary for this role will be between $31,873.40-$35,800.65 per annum.
