Senior Manager NFR Assurance

Mō te tūranga | About the Role

This is an influential leadership opportunity within ASB’s Enterprise Risk function, leading the delivery of independent Line 2 Assurance across ASB’s key policies, obligations and material risks.

Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Risk, you will provide independent assurance, insight and constructive challenge on the effectiveness of risk management frameworks and controls. Working across all three Lines of Accountability, you will help drive continuous improvement and strengthen ASB’s overall control environment.

He aha tāu e mahi ai | What You’ll Do

• Lead the development and execution of a risk-based assurance review plan covering key policies, obligations and material risks.
• Deliver high-quality, high-impact Line 2 Assurance outcomes in an agile and timely manner.
• Provide independent, pragmatic and commercially considered assurance, insight and challenge.
• Build trusted relationships across ASB and CBA’s three Lines of Accountability.
• Provide risk and compliance insights and reporting to senior management and the Board.
• Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and automation of assurance processes.
• Lead, coach and develop the team to strengthen engagement, performance and capability.
• Support the Head of Enterprise Risk and wider Line 2 Risk Leadership team with key initiatives.

Ō pūkenga | What You’ll Bring

• At least seven years’ management experience across risk, compliance, audit or assurance, ideally within a medium to large financial services organisation.
• Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, controls and assurance practices.
• Strategic thinking and an understanding of commercial business objectives.
• Sound judgement and the confidence to provide independent and constructive challenge.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Proven planning, prioritisation and decision-making capability.
• Experience motivating, coaching and empowering team members.
• The ability to engage confidently and influence senior stakeholders.
• A tertiary qualification, preferably in a commercial, legal or risk discipline.
• A professional or postgraduate qualification in risk, compliance or audit would be advantageous.
