He Angitūtanga / The Opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic Permanent Full-Time Catering Assistant to join our ESS team at Waiouru Military Camp. This role offers a guaranteed 40 hours per week and provides an excellent opportunity to be part of a supportive team delivering high-quality food services to NZ Defence Force personnel. Full training will be provided to support your success in the role.

Waiouru is located in the Ruapehu District, surrounded by some of New Zealand's best walking, skiing, mountain biking, fishing and hunting experiences.

Ko o Kawenga / Your Responsibilities

• Prepare and present food to the required quality standards
• Set up dining rooms and service areas before meal periods
• Serve meals efficiently while delivering excellent customer service
• Prepare quality coffee and support front-of-house service
• Process customer transactions and handle cash accurately
• Maintain clean, hygienic and well-presented work areas

He Kōrero Mōu / About You

• Previous experience in catering, hospitality or customer service is preferred
• Barista or front-of-house experience would be advantageous
• A friendly and outgoing personality with a positive can-do attitude
• Strong communication skills and a passion for excellent customer service
• The ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy and diverse environment
• A reliable team player committed to food quality, hygiene and safety
