The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will deliver accurate transactional accounting, reconciliations, statutory compliance and month-end reporting across Blue Wing Honda and its associated group entities. The role underpins strong financial controls and offers genuine scope to improve finance systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable through Esker, including coding, validation and workflow exceptions
• Maintain approval workflows in line with the Delegated Authority Matrix
• Prepare payment runs and complete daily bank reconciliations
• Manage trade loan accounting, the fixed asset register and intercompany reconciliations
• Prepare and file GST and FBT returns with full supporting documentation
• Complete overheads month-end, including accruals, prepayments, journals and variance analysis
• Support the annual overheads budget, forecasts, year-end audit and income tax schedules
• Provide backup cover for AR and Financial Accountant processes

Key Skills & Experience Required

• Accounting qualification completed or in progress
• Experience in an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Officer or similar finance role
• Strong AP and payment run experience
• Solid grasp of balance sheet, bank, fixed asset and intercompany reconciliations
• Practical knowledge of NZ GST requirements
• Strong Excel and ERP systems skills
• High attention to detail with a proactive approach to resolving reconciling items
• Well organised, adaptable and willing to support across the wider finance team
