Customer Service

Do you enjoy solving problems, working with people, and staying busy? Hynds Gisborne is looking for a customer service team member to join us on a 12-month fixed-term basis, covering parental leave — a great opportunity to get stuck into a varied role with a supportive branch team.

The role

You'll be the person our customers rely on. Whether they're after the right product, a quick quote, or some solid advice, you'll be there to help — building the kind of relationships that keep them coming back. It's a genuinely varied role: one part front-counter service, one part yard and stock work, with real scope to learn our products and grow your career along the way.

A typical day might see you helping customers at the counter, answering queries and finding solutions, then heading out to the yard to load a truck, check stock, or complete a delivery. Behind the scenes, you'll keep on top of the details too — invoicing, credits, and banking — making sure everything's accurate and running smoothly. It's the kind of role where you'll never be bored, and where pitching in for the team is just how things are done.

Who We're Looking For

This role would suit someone reliable and hands-on who takes pride in getting things right. You'll thrive here if you genuinely enjoy helping people, stay calm when things get busy, and like being part of a close-knit branch team. Strong communication and a good eye for detail will take you a long way.

Ideally, You'll Bring

• A real focus on customer service and a friendly, professional manner
• The ability to juggle multiple tasks and keep your cool under pressure
• A full Class 1 driver licence with F endorsement, or the drive to work towards one
• The ability to physically handle and move products up to 20kg
• A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to muck in wherever needed
