At ASB, our purpose is to help customers get one step ahead. We’re seeking a Senior Manager – Financial Crime Risk Analytics to play a key role in building and leading long-term financial crime data and insights capability for our Business Banking and Corporate Banking divisions.

Te tūranga | The role

We’re looking for a senior analytics leader to shape and elevate ASB’s Financial Crime Risk capability across Business & Corporate Banking.

In this role, you’ll build and run long-term financial crime data and insights capability—leading the development of models, delivering actionable insights, and enabling smarter, data-driven decision making across Line 1 Financial Crime Risk.

Ngā mahi matua | What you’ll do

  • Lead the development, refinement and ongoing performance of financial crime models and analytics tools
  • Deliver advanced data analysis and insights to support risk monitoring and regulatory expectations
  • Translate complex requirements into practical, scalable analytics solutions
  • Provide technical leadership across data extraction, modelling and analytics approaches
  • Partner closely with Line 2, Financial Crime teams and broader stakeholders to drive aligned outcomes
  • Influence strategy and continuously improve analytics capability, tools and frameworks
  • Manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs in a complex, evolving environment
  • Mentor and uplift capability across the team

Ō pūkenga | About you

You’re a curious and outcome-driven analytics leader who thrives in complexity and brings:

  • Experience partnering with financial crime, compliance, risk and business stakeholders to translate regulatory and risk requirements into effective analytics solutions.
  • Understanding of financial crime typologies, customer risk assessment methodologies, transaction monitoring concepts, and emerging industry and regulatory trends
  • Strong experience in data analytics, modelling and insight generation
  • Advanced SQL, SAS or similar data capability
  • Experience with visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead, influence and mentor others
  • A degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics)
