He angitūtanga / The opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic Cook to join our team at Burnham Military Camp. This is a Permanent Part-Time position, guaranteed

20 hours per week. In this role, you'll prepare and serve quality meals, support kitchen operations, and help deliver an outstanding dining experience for Defence personnel in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

Ko o Kawenga / Your Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals to Compass standards
• Assist with buffet, function, and special event catering requirements
• Support menu planning, including special dietary and cultural requirements
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness standards
• Receive, store, and manage kitchen supplies appropriately
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver excellent service

He Kōrero Mōu / About You

• Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen environment
• Passion for producing quality food and delivering excellent customer service
• Food Safety Unit Standards 167 & 168 preferred, or willingness to obtain them
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Positive attitude with a friendly, reliable, and hardworking approach
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
