We're looking for an experienced

Senior Compliance Manager to join our Corporate Banking team on an 11-month Fixed Term Contract opportunity. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact by shaping compliance outcomes, influencing strategic initiatives, and helping ensure ASB continues to meet its regulatory obligations while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Te tūranga | The role

Reporting to the Head of Non-Financial Risk, Corporate Banking, you'll provide expert compliance advice, oversight, and challenge across a broad range of business activities, strategic projects, products, and processes. You'll act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders while helping to strengthen compliance capability and risk maturity across the business.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Providing expert guidance on compliance-related matters, incidents, and regulatory obligations.
• Monitoring and interpreting legislative and regulatory developments, identifying impacts and recommending appropriate actions.
• Leading the implementation of regulatory and compliance initiatives across Corporate Banking.
• Advising on new products, business initiatives, and process changes to ensure compliance obligations are effectively managed.
• Designing and enhancing compliance frameworks, policies, controls, and monitoring activities.
• Developing and delivering compliance awareness and training initiatives.
• Producing and overseeing compliance reporting to support business and risk management decision-making.
• Building strong relationships across the business to foster a proactive risk and compliance culture.

You'll bring a strong compliance background within financial services and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where you can influence, challenge, and drive meaningful outcomes.

You'll Ideally Have

• 7+ years' experience in financial services, including regulatory compliance management.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance obligations.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and drive practical solutions.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing capability.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
• Experience leading compliance projects, frameworks, and change initiatives.
• A passion for developing capability, strengthening risk culture, and supporting others to succeed.
