Ko tā mātou mahi - About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Security Analyst to step into a key role within our Cyber Defence Operations Centre, taking greater ownership of complex security investigations and helping strengthen the security outcomes we deliver for Kordia and our customers.

You’ll be a key escalation point for second line alerts and incidents, applying your technical expertise to investigate threats, guide remediation and manage incidents through to resolution. Just as importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to influence how we operate by improving detection and response, identifying automation and data enrichment opportunities, and helping build capability across the wider analyst team.

Ko tō mahi – What you will do

Reporting to the Security Operations Centre Manager, you’ll work closely with analysts, security specialists and teams across Kordia. This is an opportunity to deepen your technical expertise while taking on greater responsibility for complex investigations, continuous improvement and the development of others.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading the investigation and triage of complex second line security alerts and incidents
• Managing incidents through to resolution and escalating complex threats when specialist expertise is required
• Analysing security activity and providing clear, effective remediation recommendations
• Identifying opportunities to improve detection, tune controls and strengthen our managed security services
• Driving opportunities for security orchestration, automation and data enrichment
• Troubleshooting security tools and infrastructure
• Contributing to customer reporting, documentation, processes and continual service improvement
• Mentoring interns, graduates and developing analysts, sharing your expertise to strengthen capability across the team
• Providing out of hours support for security events when required.

You’ll already have a strong grounding in cyber security operations and be ready to apply that experience to more complex work and broader team responsibilities. This is an ideal role for a Security Analyst who is ready to step into a Senior role. You'll also bring:

• Practical experience with technologies such as Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, Sentinel or other SIEM platforms, threat intelligence, network security and email protection
• Strong knowledge of network protocols and common authentication methods
• A solid understanding of the current cyber threat landscape
• SC-200 Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate, which is required for the role
• Relevant security and network qualifications, with AZ-500, SC-300 or SC-400 advantageous
• The ability to work through complex security issues, collaborate across teams and confidently share your technical knowledge with others.
