About the Role

This role can be based in either our Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch offices. This is a permanent, full time position. We're looking for an experienced senior leader to join us as our Head of Advice - Investments and Insurance. This is a pivotal national leadership role responsible for leading MAS's Investments and Insurance Senior Adviser channel. You'll set the strategic direction for the function while ensuring nationwide consistency in advice quality, governance, capability development, regulatory compliance, and Member outcomes. Working closely with leaders across Distribution, Product, , Marketing, Risk and Compliance, you'll help shape the future of our advice proposition and drive sustainable growth for MAS.

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing

• Leading the national Investments and Insurance Advice strategy and performance in our Senior Adviser channel across New Zealand
• Providing leadership and coaching to regional advice leaders
• Driving advice quality, governance, regulatory compliance and risk management
• Developing adviser capability, workforce planning and succession strategies
• Establishing performance frameworks that support exceptional Member outcomes and growth
• Building strong relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders
• Leading strategic initiatives and continuous improvement programmes across the advice function
• Ensuring advisers are equipped to successfully deliver quality advice, propositions and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification and NZ Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) or equivalent advice qualification.

Required Skills

What you'll bring You'll be a proven senior leader within financial services, wealth management, investments, insurance or a related advice environment. You'll combine strategic thinking with strong commercial acumen and have a track record of developing high-performing teams and delivering outstanding business and customer outcomes. You'll also bring:

• Significant leadership experience in financial advice, investments, insurance, wealth management or broader financial services
• Deep understanding of advice governance, regulatory obligations and risk management
• Experience leading large or multi-regional teams and operating at a senior leadership level
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability
• Experience developing capability frameworks, leadership programmes and workforce plans
• The ability to lead change, drive performance and build alignment across multiple business functions

Preferred Skills

• Experience within New Zealand financial services, wealth management, investments or insurance environments.
