Youth Support Practitioner - ASAP Start Put Your Youth Support Skills to Work in Schools

Young people don't always need another lesson. Sometimes they need an adult who can listen, understand what's getting in the way and help them find a way forward.

Thrive Education Group is recruiting Youth Support Practitioners to work within schools across

Sefton, supporting pupils who may need additional help with behaviour, confidence, emotional wellbeing or engagement with education.

If your experience comes from youth services, mentoring, children's support, residential care, community projects or alternative provision, your skills could transfer naturally into a school environment.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll work alongside teachers, pastoral teams and SEND professionals to help pupils participate more positively in school life.

Your Role Could Involve

• Building positive relationships with young people.
• Providing individual and small-group support.
• Helping pupils re-engage with lessons and learning.
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Helping young people manage difficult situations or transitions.
• Encouraging confidence, resilience and independence.
• Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional needs.
• Reinforcing appropriate boundaries and expectations.
• Working with school staff to follow individual support strategies.

Who Could This Suit?

You might currently be a Youth Worker, Support Worker, Mentor, Residential Support Worker, Behaviour Practitioner or Children's Support Worker.

We're looking for people who can connect with young people while remaining calm, consistent and professional.

Previous school experience isn't essential if you already have strong experience supporting children or teenagers.

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one, will be required.

Take Your Experience in a New Direction

Working within education can help you develop further experience in SEND, SEMH, behaviour support, pastoral care and specialist education, while using skills you've already built elsewhere.
