Te tūranga | About the role

As a Private Banking Relationship Manager, you'll manage and grow an established portfolio of customers, becoming a trusted adviser who understands their goals, ambitions and financial priorities.

You'll work closely with customers to deliver tailored banking and lending solutions, while collaborating with a network of specialist partners across ASB to provide a seamless and personalised experience.

This is a role that combines relationship management, commercial acumen, and strategic thinking. You'll have the autonomy to manage your portfolio while being supported by a highly experienced and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Managing and growing an established portfolio of Private Banking customers
  • Building long-term, trusted customer relationships through proactive engagement and exceptional service
  • Identifying opportunities to support customers across lending, deposits and specialist banking solutions
  • Partnering with internal specialists to deliver tailored financial outcomes
  • Developing a deep understanding of customers' financial circumstances, goals and evolving needs
  • Building strong referral relationships and identifying opportunities to grow your network
  • Ensuring all risk, compliance, operational and lending requirements are met

You'll be a strong relationship builder who enjoys creating meaningful customer connections and delivering outstanding outcomes.

You may already have experience in banking, financial services, wealth management, business development or another customer-focused industry where trust, credibility and relationship management are critical to success.

  • Have proven experience managing customer or client relationships
  • Build trust quickly and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
  • Are commercially minded and able to identify opportunities that create value for both customers and the business
  • Have strong communication, influencing and relationship management skills
  • Can confidently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate sound judgement and a strong understanding of risk and compliance requirements
  • Are motivated by learning, development and continuous improvement

Experience in lending, banking, wealth management or financial services will be highly regarded, but we're equally interested in people who bring strong relationship management capability and a genuine passion for helping customers succeed.
