Remote

As a proud Kiwi born and bred insurer, we pride ourselves in challenging status quo - and move fast to make things happen. We're here to create beautifully simple, rewarding experiences for our customers and communities, and we're working hard to protect the future of Aotearoa.

At its heart, insurance is about helping people through the unexpected. Doing what's right for our customers - especially in tough times - gives real purpose to our work.

Your day-to-day would look like

  • Partnering with stakeholders across the business to design, implement, and optimise pricing changes that support Tower's growth, profitability, and customer outcomes.
  • Building, maintaining, and enhancing pricing models, rating algorithms, and automated data solutions to enable data-driven decision making.
  • Monitoring portfolio performance, market trends, and competitor activity, translating insights into practical pricing recommendations and actions.

What Success Looks Like in 6-12 Months

  • Successfully delivered multiple pricing initiatives from design through to implementation, with changes accurately reflected in rating and operational systems.
  • Become the trusted subject matter expert on Tower's pricing models, rating algorithms, and pricing engine, providing valued advice to stakeholders.
  • Identified and implemented pricing opportunities that have improved portfolio performance, profitability, and customer outcomes.
  • Enhanced pricing and underwriting data automation, improving efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capability across the business.
  • Established yourself as a technical leader within the team by mentoring colleagues, conducting peer reviews, and maintaining high standards of governance, documentation, and regulatory compliance.

To thrive in this role, you'll need

  • A minimum of 4-5 years in a structured general insurance pricing role
  • Progress toward actuarial certification preferred
  • Strong analytical and programming skills, with experience using R or Python and exposure to geospatial tools such as ArcGIS or QGIS an advantage.
  • Experience analysing insurance portfolios and translating insights into commercial outcomes, with a sound understanding of insurance performance metrics.
  • A self-motivated team player with excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

We invest in you.
