The Customer Tribe works across ASB Bank to deliver innovative customer and colleague experiences through specialist platforms like Salesforce. Our platform is made up of collaborative experts who are passionate about creating seamless, customer-centric solutions that make life easier for ASBers and our Customers.
As a Senior Software Engineer – Salesforce Functional, you'll have the opportunity to work hands-on across a variety of interesting and complex initiatives while being part of a smaller squad within our innovation and platform area. You'll help maintain a high level of service, scalability, and performance across our Salesforce ecosystem while contributing to the evolution of our customer and operational capabilities.
In This Role, You Will
- Partner with Product Owners, Architects, Engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver customer-focused Salesforce solutions
- Translate business requirements into scalable functional designs and user stories
- Support end-to-end delivery across analysis, design, testing, release, and continuous improvement activities
- Contribute to backlog refinement, prioritisation, and solution planning activities
- Work across integration initiatives and connected systems to improve platform capability and customer outcomes
- Support platform governance, optimisation, and enhancement initiatives
- Participate in design workshops and provide functional expertise across the Salesforce ecosystem
- Help maintain high levels of platform performance, usability, and service availability
- Share knowledge and mentor others across the wider Salesforce practice

Salesforce experience and Salesforce certifications are highly regarded; however, we also welcome applications from people who bring strong transferable skills from product, platform, business analysis, functional consulting, delivery, engineering, or enterprise application environments and are excited to grow their Salesforce capability.
Ō Pūkenga | About You
You may already have experience working within Salesforce environments, or you may bring experience from another enterprise platform or delivery environment. Either way, you'll be confident articulating business requirements, translating them into functional solutions, and influencing delivery outcomes across the SDLC.
Your positivity, collaborative mindset, and excellent communication skills enable you to build strong relationships with stakeholders and share knowledge across teams to continuously grow capability.
Skills
As a starter for success, we'd love to see a mix of the following skills and experience. We don't expect every applicant to tick every box:
- Experience working in CRM, enterprise application, functional consulting, business analysis, product, platform, or technology environments
- Experience delivering CRM solutions and working with integrated enterprise systems
- Strong understanding of system integrations, APIs, and connected technology ecosystems
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end delivery lifecycle
- Experience translating business requirements into scalable functional and technical solutions
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications in Agile delivery environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and communication skills
- Ability to participate in design workshops, contribute to solution documentation, and communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences
- Certified or experienced working within Agile delivery frameworks
- Ability to learn new technologies and business domains quickly
- Confidence in applying and promoting industry best practices
Experience In The Following Would Be Advantageous
- Salesforce platform experience
- Salesforce Sales Cloud and/or Service Cloud knowledge
- Salesforce certifications (e.g., Administrator, Business Analyst, Platform App Builder, Advanced Administrator, or Consultant certifications)
- Salesforce configuration, including objects, fields, page layouts, security, automation, and Flows
- CRM integration experience, including APIs, middleware platforms, and integration patterns
