Te Tūranga | The Role

We're seeking an experienced Head of Audit & Assurance – Enterprise Risk & Compliance to join our leadership team during one of the most significant periods of change in our portfolio.

This role sits at the centre of several strategically important initiatives, including regulatory reform, financial crime obligations, conditions of registration requirements and enterprise-wide risk management transformation. The work is highly visible and has a direct impact on how Audit & Assurance delivers value across the organisation.

While deep subject matter expertise in every area is not essential, we're looking for a seasoned risk, governance or assurance professional who is comfortable operating at a strategic level, engaging with senior executives and constructively challenging thinking to improve outcomes.

You'll be responsible for enabling the success of the broader Audit & Assurance function, driving strategic priorities, lifting capability, strengthening operational excellence and ensuring the function is positioned to respond effectively to an evolving risk landscape.

Success in this role requires someone who combines strategic thinking with strong execution. You'll be known for building credibility quickly, navigating complexity, influencing senior stakeholders and turning priorities into tangible outcomes.

You'll Bring

• Significant experience in risk management, assurance, governance, audit, regulatory change or a related discipline.
• Experience influencing senior leaders and operating confidently in complex stakeholder environments.
• Strong strategic thinking and the ability to challenge constructively to improve decision making and outcomes.
• A proven track record of driving delivery while maintaining strong operational discipline.
• Excellent communication, relationship management and leadership skills.
• The ability to connect enterprise strategy with practical execution.
