About The Role
As a Casual Registered Midwife at Birthcare, you will:
- Play a vital role in providing antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care
- Work collaboratively with women and their Lead Maternity Carers (LMCs)
- Ensure continuity of care that aligns with Birthcare’s Vision and Values
- Maintain a high standard of patient care in line with legislative and professional requirements
- Continuously develop professionally
- Collaborate with LMCs and staff midwives on quality initiatives
- Utilise effective communication skills
- Act as a resource person when specialised knowledge or skills
- Ensure patient safety and integrity by managing risks and potential complications
- Follow LMC care plans
- Inform mothers and families about their care and maximise health potential
About you
To join our team you will need
- Registration with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand
- Relevant bachelor’s degree or hospital-based training
- Current annual practice certificate
- Previous experience in midwifery or as an LMC
- You should be able to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of service
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate professionalism and attention to detail
- Flexibility to work rostered and rotating shifts
- Autonomy and collaboration in a team are essential
- Sensitivity to cultural and social situations
