About The Role

As a Registered Midwife at Birthcare, you will:

  • Play a vital role in providing antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care
  • Work collaboratively with women and their Lead Maternity Carers (LMCs)
  • Ensure continuity of care that aligns with Birthcare’s Vision and Values
  • Maintain a high standard of patient care in line with legislative and professional requirements
  • Continuously develop professionally
  • Collaborate with LMCs and staff midwives on quality initiatives
  • Utilise effective communication skills
  • Act as a resource person when specialised knowledge or skills
  • Ensure patient safety and integrity by managing risks and potential complications
  • Follow LMC care plans
  • Inform mothers and families about their care and maximise health potential

About You

To join our team, you will need

  • Registration with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand
  • Relevant bachelor’s degree or hospital-based training
  • Current annual practice certificate
  • Previous experience in midwifery or as an LMC
  • You should be able to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of service
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate professionalism and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work rostered and rotating shifts
  • Autonomy and collaboration in a team are essential
  • Sensitivity to cultural and social situations
