Afterschool Playmate – Puni, Pukekohe

An energetic, social 9-year-old girl who has down syndrome is looking for someone to bring fun, play and adventure into her afternoons. She loves 1:1 play, water play, bubbles, getting outside and the Wiggles. Some days she's bubbling with energy; other days she needs a quieter snuggle on the couch with a book. Either way, she'll thrive with someone who makes her feel like the centre of their attention.

Based in Puni, Pukekohe, the family are looking for someone 1-2 afternoons a week (about 3.30-5.30pm) and 1-2 Saturdays a month. You might have babysitting, nannying, ECE or other childcare experience — what matters most is that you bring energy and an active, hands-on approach to play (disability experience is a bonus, but not essential). You'll need to be positive, kind, and firm when needed, plus responsive rather than reactive — if she senses you're stressed, she'll get stressed too.

She does have medical needs and is still working on toileting independence, but mum will be around (especially at the start), so this is not the focus of your time together.
