The Role

This is an outstanding opportunity for someone looking to transition into an office-based construction career. Whether you're a qualified Carpenter ready to move off the tools or a recent Bachelor of Construction Management graduate looking for your first opportunity, full training will be provided. Working alongside experienced Estimators, you'll develop your skills across both Sales and Production Estimating while learning every stage of the estimating process.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Assisting with Sales Estimating including site costs, variations and tender pricing
• Supporting Production Estimating and preparing construction orders
• Reviewing architectural and engineering drawings and specifications
• Assisting with the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and quantity take-offs
• Obtaining supplier quotations and assisting with supplier allocations
• Liaising with architects, engineers, suppliers and construction supervisors
• Maintaining estimating databases, price files and assemblies
• Assisting with margin reporting and pricing reviews
• Responding to estimating enquiries from internal stakeholders
• Learning to ensure estimates comply with the NCC, Australian Standards and company specifications
• Working closely with senior estimators to develop your technical and commercial knowledge of residential construction

About You

This role is designed for someone at the beginning of their estimating career who is eager to learn and build a long-term future within residential construction.

To Be Successful You Will Have

• Certificate III in Carpentry or a recently completed Bachelor of Construction Management
• A genuine interest in residential home building
• Ability to read or learn to interpret residential building plans and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and good numerical skills
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
• Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn from experienced mentors
• Good computer literacy and organisational skills
• The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• A desire to build a long-term career within estimating and residential construction
