The Light Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for the safe, efficient and reliable maintenance, servicing and repair of the site's light vehicle fleet and ancillary equipment.

Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, this role is critical in ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant and available to support underground mining, processing and site operations.

The Light Vehicle Mechanic will perform preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, breakdown repairs and inspections while maintaining the highest standards of safety, workmanship and professionalism

As our Light Vehicle Mechanic , you will be responsible for:

  • Conduct scheduled, preventative and breakdown maintenance activities to maximise vehicle reliability and availability in-line with site and OEM procedures and recommendations. .
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and auto electrical faults.
  • Perform routine, statutory and periodic inspections, and defect identification on site vehicles and ancillary equipment.
  • Complete breakdown repairs in a safe and timely manner to minimise operational disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders within the site maintenance management system.
  • Assist with LV tyre management, battery replacement and vehicle compliance inspections.
  • Liaise with suppliers, contractors and OEM representatives regarding repairs, technical support and parts requirements.
  • Ensure vehicles comply with site standards, legislative requirements and roadworthiness requirements.
  • Assist with workshop housekeeping and maintaining tools and equipment in a safe and serviceable condition.
  • Support broader maintenance activities and projects as required.

Workplace Duties

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports and work order documentation.
  • Promote Endura Mining's safety culture and environmental standards.
  • Completion of paperwork, documentation and other tools required by site procedures and policies.
  • Use positive radio and workplace communications at all times.
  • Undertake additional or alternative responsibilities as reasonably assigned by the Mobile. Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Superintendent or Mining Manager.
  • Participate in safety and environmental verification activities and inspections.
  • At all times, display behaviours in alignment with Endura Values: Safety, Integrity and Accountability.
  • Assist the maintenance team by example through maintaining a positive presence, site standards and professional conduct.
  • Bring a positive can-do attitude.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and professional workshop environment.

About you

  • Trade qualification as a Light Vehicle Mechanic, Automotive Technician or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing light vehicles and ancillary equipment.
  • Current Manual Driver Licence.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Sound understanding of vehicle servicing, maintenance and compliance requirements.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Competent computer skills and ability to utilise maintenance management systems.
  • Ability to work a roster that supports operational requirements.
