Mō te tūnga | About the role

Join IDEA Services for a 12-month placement in forensic rehabilitation, supporting people with intellectual disabilities who have complex needs and contact with the justice system. Our RIDSAS services provide rehabilitation services to people with high and complex needs, who have had contact with the justice system. Our approach includes translating court ordered rehabilitation into clinical practice and seeking out rehabilitation opportunities while managing any risks associated with forensic rehabilitation.

Over the course of a 12-month fixed term contract you will gain exposure to working in the disability sector with a wide range of clients from different backgrounds, ethnicities and diagnosed syndromes. You will be providing high quality clinical support to people throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

• A minimum of a master's degree in psychology.
• You may also be eligible for Registration (Intern) in a relevant scope of practice (e.g., Health, Clinical, Applied Behaviour Analysis, Forensic) with the New Zealand Psychology Board.
• Cultural competence and the ability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tirirti o Waitangi
• Previous experience working in Health and Disability would be highly valued.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt to your audience
• Ability to work in an environment with diverse individuals, being open-minded and non-judgmental in your approach
• Have a full NZ drivers' licence
