Bob Scott Retirement Village in Petone, Wellington is looking for a motivated and hands-on Lead Gardener to help maintain and enhance our beautifully landscaped village, creating spaces that residents, families, and visitors can enjoy year-round.

About The Role

As our Lead Gardener, you'll take ownership of the village grounds and lead a team dedicated to maintaining some of Wellington's most beautiful gardens. This is a hands-on role where you'll combine your horticultural expertise, leadership skills, and creativity to ensure our outdoor spaces continue to thrive.

You will:

• Lead, mentor, and support a small gardening team
• Maintain and enhance gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas to a high standard
• Develop seasonal planting programmes and garden improvements
• Maintain irrigation systems and support healthy soil management
• Care for water features, bowling green, croquet lawn, pétanque court and other outdoor amenities
• Operate gardening machinery and equipment safely
• Ensure pathways, driveways and outdoor areas remain safe, tidy and visually appealing
• Work collaboratively with village teams and contractors
• Help create outdoor spaces that residents are proud to call home
