This is a unique opportunity to work closely with patients throughout their treatment journey while enjoying the benefits of regular weekday hours in a specialist healthcare environment.

You'll provide a combination of clinical nursing care, patient coordination and practice administration, ensuring a seamless experience for patients from initial consultation through to post-operative recovery.

The role

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. Working closely with the Specialist, you'll play a key role in supporting patients through consultation, treatment and recovery.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Supporting patients through pre-operative and post-operative care
• Assisting with patient assessments, education and clinical support
• Coordinating referrals, investigations and follow-up appointments
• Managing bookings, patient enquiries, phone calls and emails
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and records
• Liaising with patients, GPs, hospital teams and external healthcare providers
• Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice
• Delivering a professional and compassionate patient experience

This is a permanent position for 80 hours per fortnight and is located at Wakefield Hospital in Newtown, Wellington.

We're looking for an experienced and organised nurse who enjoys working in a fast-paced specialist environment.

You'll Bring

• Current NZ Nursing Council registration and Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
• Previous experience in gynaecology nursing
• Experience supporting patients through pre and post-operative care
• Strong clinic administration experience
• Excellent planning and organisational skills
• Strong computer and digital literacy skills
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
• A positive, proactive and patient-focused approach
