Production Planner & Scheduler

Currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established New Zealand-owned engineering manufacturer that specialises in precision-machined components and high-performance engineered products supplied into a wide range of industrial sectors. This role is based in the Bay of Plenty.

The business has built a strong market reputation and continues to invest heavily in its people, systems, and CNC machining technology. With manufacturing operations supporting customers across New Zealand, they are now looking to add another Production Planner & Scheduler to their planning team.

The Opportunity

Working closely with Production Managers, Workshop Foremen, Sales teams, and Suppliers, you'll coordinate workflow, balance machine capacity, manage production schedules, and ensure customer orders are delivered on time.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and scheduling work across multiple machining operations
  • Balancing production capacity against customer delivery requirements
  • Coordinating material requirements and supplier deliveries
  • Maintaining and updating ERP planning information
  • Monitoring production progress and adjusting schedules where required
  • Identifying and resolving bottlenecks and workflow constraints
  • Communicating priorities, lead times and schedule updates across the business
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency

About You

We're interested in speaking with people who have experience in a manufacturing environment and understand how production workflows operate.

You may come from a background such as:

  • Production Planner
  • Production Scheduler
  • Manufacturing Planner
  • Materials Planner
  • Maintenance Planner
  • Production Supervisor
  • Workshop Supervisor

Experience within engineering manufacturing, machining, fabrication, precision manufacturing, plastics or similar environments would be advantageous.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Production planning or scheduling experience
  • Understanding of manufacturing operations and machine capacity planning
  • Exposure to ERP, MRP or manufacturing systems
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and changing production demands
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving
