Take the wheel in developing top-tier drivers and fostering a culture of safety as our next Driver Trainer.
What You Will Enjoy Doing
- Train and mentor drivers, ensuring compliance with New Zealand transport regulations
- Engage in pre-employment drives, new driver onboarding, and ongoing training including yearly assessments
- Conduct post-incident training and assessments, supporting Performance Improvement Plans
- Coach drivers on speed, camera use, fatigue management, driving style, and EROAD star ratings
- Perform audits on logbooks, fatigue management, customer sites, and trucks is part of your role
- Manage training sessions and records, and coordinate external training opportunities
- Recommend drivers for promotions and attend serious incidents to provide advice
What Makes You Great
- Experience in driver training or a leadership role in the gases industry
- Class 2 - 5 license with Dangerous Goods endorsement
- Strong understanding of compliance requirements, including NZTA fatigue management
- Coaching and mentoring skills to foster driver improvement
- Expertise in audits and compliance verification processes is required for this role
- Effective communication skills for impactful training delivery
- You have the ability to analyse driving data to identify high-risk behaviours
- Commitment to fostering a positive and resilient workplace culture
- Skills that support driver development and operational excellence
