Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
As a Registered Drainlayer, you'll be part of a skilled and hardworking crew delivering a variety of water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure projects throughout the Tairāwhiti region.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll apply your technical expertise, solve problems on site, and take pride in delivering quality work that helps keep communities connected and thriving.
Your day-to-day may include
- Installing wastewater, stormwater and drainage infrastructure
- Laying PVC, PE and concrete pipelines
- Constructing manholes, chambers and associated structures
- Completing drainage renewals, upgrades and maintenance projects
- Reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications
- Supporting site safety, quality and environmental standards
- Working collaboratively with crews, supervisors and subcontractors

Nga Pūkenga Matua | What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, values teamwork, and is committed to delivering safe, high-quality outcomes.
To be successful, you'll have:
- Level 3 Drainlaying qualification (minimum)
- Current registration with the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board (PGDB)
- Experience working across drainage and water infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of drainage construction practices and standards
- A proactive approach to problem solving
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A strong commitment to health, safety and quality
- Full Class 1 Driver Licence (Class 2 advantageous)
