  • Shifts: Awake nights from 10.45pm to 7.15am (possible to pick up some days shifts as well)
  • Pay: $24.68 - $30.13 per hour depending on relevant qualifications (additional $2 per hour allowance applies for eligible RIDSAS shifts)

Mō te tūnga | About the role

IDEA Services provide forensic rehabilitation services for people with high and complex needs who have committed an offence and had contact with the justice system. We provide a 24/7 rehabilitation service that offers clinical support, vocational opportunities, and life skills programmes.

As a Support Worker on the night shifts at a secure facility you will be managing risk and maintaining safety throughout the night. You will be monitoring the people we support and helping with individual needs when required.

Previous experience is preferred, but more importantly, we are looking for someone with some life experience and the right attitude. People from backgrounds such as security, corrections, defence, youth work, coaching, community leadership, trades, or disability, addictions and mental health support are encouraged to apply.

  • Someone who knows how to stand strong and stay calm
  • A calm nature, resilience and confidence to work with challenging behaviours
  • Physically fit and confident in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to work in an environment with diverse individuals, being open-minded and non-judgmental in your approach
  • Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A Full NZ driver's license
