We are currently seeking applications for a permanent, full-time

Primary Teacher to join our incredible team. As a Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that supports primary school students realise their potential. Young learners at ACG Strathallan benefit from a truly holistic educational experience and modern facilities in a stunning natural setting. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences for primary students.
  • Support children's successful transition into school through nurturing and responsive teaching practices.
  • Develop strong foundations in early literacy, numeracy, and inquiry-based learning.
  • Differentiate learning programmes to meet individual student needs, strengths, and interests.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress to inform next steps in learning.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that promotes wellbeing and belonging.
  • Foster confidence, independence, positive behaviour, and social development in young learners.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents and caregivers to support student learning and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to Junior School initiatives and professional learning.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

  • NZ Teacher registration with supporting teaching qualifications (BA and/or MBA).
  • Experience teaching primary year levels
  • Senior Leadership opportunities available for suitable applicants
  • Strong understanding of child development and transition-to-school practices.
  • Knowledge of structured literacy and evidence-based teaching approaches.
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families.
  • Understanding of inclusive, culturally responsive teaching practices and support for diverse learning needs.
