About the role
Reporting to the Supply Chain Health & Safety Manager, you'll provide technical leadership across our Temperature-Controlled Distribution Centre and wider Supply Chain function.
You'll partner with operational teams to strengthen critical risk management and verify that critical controls remain effective and well embedded in the way we work. This role provides specialist support across several complex risk areas and acts as the second-in-charge to the Health & Safety Manager.
You'll be joining a function where health and safety is already well embedded, giving you the opportunity to build on strong foundations and play a part in what's next.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the ongoing evolution of critical risk frameworks across the Supply Chain function.
- Lead assurance activities that verify the effectiveness of critical controls and identify improvement opportunities.
- Provide expert advice and decision support on complex health and safety risks requiring specialist technical knowledge and judgement.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to strengthen critical risk management capability and performance.
- Provide leadership support to the broader health and safety function, including mentoring and guidance when required
About you
You'll be an experienced health and safety professional with a proven track record in leading critical risk management initiatives within a complex operational environment. You've provided technical leadership on high-consequence risks, influenced senior stakeholders, and can confidently operate as a trusted advisor across all levels of an organisation.
- Extensive experience in a senior health and safety role within a large operational, logistics, manufacturing, industrial, or other high-risk environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and assuring critical risk management frameworks and critical controls.
- Advanced technical knowledge of high-consequence hazards and complex operational risks.
- Experience leading assurance programmes, critical control verification activities, investigations, and audits.
- Strong understanding of risk-based decision making, governance, assurance, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to coach senior leaders and influence decision making across multiple levels of an organisation.
- Excellent facilitation, consulting, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A practical mindset, curiosity for learning, and a track record of delivering meaningful results
