Mō te tūnga | About the role
NZDF Finance are seeking experienced, strategic finance business leader who can lead a team and strengthen financial capability and assurance. As Manager Financial Systems and Reporting, you will report directly to the Director Enterprise Finance and will be responsible for the development, maintenance and operations of NZDF’s financial systems, ensuring that quality financial planning, reporting, analysis and data insights are available to the team and wider organisation.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the development, maintenance, continuous improvement and integration of NZDF finance systems (including SAP and TM1)
- Provide trusted, insightful and comprehensive high quality financial systems services, insights, data and reporting to NZDF leaders, governance forums and other government agencies and external parties as required.
- Lead and develop a high performing team of systems accountants, and data and reporting analysts
- Drive continuous improvement in reporting standards, processes, data quality, and analytical capability
- Support strategic planning and contribute to the delivery of NZDF Finance’s long term strategy
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience
You will bring:
- A professional accounting qualification equivalent to Chartered Accountant (CA)
- A breadth of experience in senior finance leadership roles driving finance work streams, ideally within large, complex environments.
- Deep exposure to financial systems, financial planning, reporting and analytical functions required to support a large, complex capital intensive and operational organisation.
- Strong experience in leading ERP and finance systems transformation (SAP highly desirable).
- The ability to plan, execute and project manage change.
- Proven ability to lead, develop and mentor staff to build capability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to collaborate across the wider finance team.
- Strong analytical judgement, commercial acumen, and a continuous improvement mindset
- Experience working in the public sector while not essential, would be viewed favourably.
